About CHCSS00074
Child Protection: This skill set reflects the skill requirements for the protection of children in a variety of roles in the community sector. Work may involve working directly or indirectly with children and providing support to children, families or communities.

Flexible Delivery
Our courses can be generally offered mixed mode, with a variety of learning options to cater to individual learning styles. Most courses have been designed to be delivered to those aligned with a workplace to enable easy completion of the practical tasks associated with some components of assessment.
Duration
Duration of each course is determined using the Australian Qualifications Framework as a guide. Skill Set level courses have a 3 month expected duration, but extensions can be provided if students require additional time.
RPL & Credit Transfer
All courses can be completed using an assessment only pathways through RPL if the candidate possesses sufficient skills and experience as determined by the assessor.
Course Costs
The CHCSS00074 Child Protection is currently being funded by the Queensland State Government’s Higher Level Skills for eligible participants. Eligible students must pay a Co-Contribution Fee.

Skill Set Requirements
This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who:
- hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in community services or health or related field; or
- have skills equivalent to the qualification requirement validated through a recognition of prior learning process.

Pathway Requirement
Students are required to follow Traxion Training’s Skillset Pathway. It is designed by industry professionals to help you further your skills. This means students are expected to complete (be deemed competent) in CHCSS00072 Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set prior to enrolling into CHCSS00074 Child Protection.
This also means that ONE credit transfer will apply between CHCSS00090 Supporting Children and Families with Complex Needs and CHCSS00074 Child Protection.
The Skillset Pathway requires students to complete its pathway through the following order:
