About CHCSS00072 | Building Inclusive Practices in Early Child hood Education and Care Skill Set

Flexible Delivery

Our courses are delivered 100% online and have been designed to be delivered to those aligned with a workplace to enable easy completion of the practical tasks associated with some components of assessment.

Duration

Duration of each course is determined using the Australian Qualifications Framework as a guide. Skill Set level courses have a 3 month expected duration. This duration may change dependant on the delivery methodology. Students may apply for an extension should they require additional time.

RPL & Credit Transfer

All courses can be completed using an assessment only pathway through RPL if the candidate possesses sufficient skills and experience as determined by the assessor.

Course Costs

The CHCSS00072 Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set is currently being funded by the Queensland State Government’s Higher Level Skills for eligible participants. Eligible students must pay a Co-Contribution Fee.

Skill Set Requirements

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who:

  • hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in early childhood education and care; or
  • have skills equivalent to the qualification requirement validated through a recognition of prior learning process.

To enrol, you must be an existing worker in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector and already hold a Certificate III, or higher qualification. You must also submit a Third Party Report which proves your existing skills and knowledge in a range of areas.

To enrol, you will need to provide evidence that you already hold a current Blue Card (working with children check).

Other Requirements

You must have access to a computer with internet and camera capabilities, MS Office, PDF reader software or a Tablet device with internet and camera capabilities, MS Office, PDF reader software, a scanner and printer.

We recommend you have language, literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to allow you to interpret documents and prepare written reports.

All students will be required to attend a scheduled online zoom workshop to complete their role play based assessments. Students will be given different dates to attend and are expected to attend in order to complete the skill set.

Please note that there are work placement hours associated with CHCSS00072. Traxion Training can recommend a number of employers that you can access, however you will be responsible for making those arrangements and the associated costs. Please also be aware that the Blue Card is a mandatory requirement for any work placement arrangements within the Industry.

Pathway Requirement

Students are required to follow Traxion Training’s Skillset Pathway. It is designed by industry professionals to help you further your skills. This means students are expected to complete (be deemed competent) in CHCSS00073 Case Management Skill Set prior to enrolling into CHCSS00072 Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set.

This also means that ONE credit transfer will apply between CHCSS00090 Supporting Children and Families with Complex Needs and CHCSS00072 Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set.

The Skillset Pathway requires students to complete its pathway through the following order:

  1. CHCSS00090 Supporting Children and Families with Complex Needs
  2. CHCSS00091 Team Leader
  3. CHCSS00073 Case Management Skill Set
  4. CHCSS00072 Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set
  5. CHCSS00074 Child Protection

Proposed assessment methods

Case study analysis, simulated workplace projects, written assessments and role play tasks.

Vocational placement hours requirements

This skill set requires students to do a minimum of 240 hours of vocational placement in a regulated education and care service. Traxion requires students to have already completed these hours prior to enrolling. There are two units of competencies in this skill set which requires vocational placement. For example CHCECE007 requires students to have performed the activities outlined in the performance criteria of this unit during a period of at least 120 hours of work in at least one regulated education and care service. Another unit, CHCECE017 also requires students to have performed the activities outlined in the performance criteria of this unit during a period of at least 240 hours of work in at least one regulated education and care service. More information can be found here.
