Traineeship/Apprenticeship Programs Funded by the Queensland Government

A core element of the Queensland Government’s Working Queensland jobs plan, is to ensure Queenslanders have access to quality training programs that deliver effective skills to meet employment and business demands.

Our RTO is a Pre-Qualified Supplier of the following programs funded by the Queensland Government to deliver subsidised “employment based” training programs:

Eligibility

Traineeships/apprenticeships carry unique eligibility requirements and details of these can be found at:
http://apprenticeshipsinfo.qld.gov.au/apprentices/become-apprentice/eligible.html

Final eligibility confirmation is provided by the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider and we can connect employers and employees with a local AASN to assist with this. The AASN will also explain all details of the legally binding training contract that governs a traineeship/apprenticeship arrangement and confirm the employer responsibilities and incentives associated with employing a trainee in the workplace. The Fair Work office can provide details regarding wages and conditions of these trainee appointments.

Getting Started

Once you have selected which qualification is intended for the traineeship/apprenticeship, we prepare a training plan in discussions with the employer and trainee, outlining how and when the training is to be delivered and includes the planned assessment arrangements. An induction session will then be facilitated by the trainer and training and assessment materials provided.

Traineeships/apprenticeships vary in length from 12 months to three years with part-time traineeships/apprenticeships able to be completed across double this timeframe.

Cost of Training

Subsidised traineeship/apprenticeship require the payment of student contribution fees for each unit of competency included in the Training Plan. Given each training plan is unique, a formal Employer Agreement (Traineeship l Pool) containing details of these costs will be provided for consideration and approval prior to entering into a Traineeship/Apprenticeship program. The student contribution fee can be paid by EFT or credit card (prior to training commencement) by the student, employer or a third party. Employer incentives are available for some qualifications. Please see https://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au/employer-incentives for any incentives that may be available to you.

Concession rates apply to those holding a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and is named on that card, or where payment of the co-contribution fee would cause the apprentice/trainee extreme financial hardship.

There are no additional costs to the trainee or employer apart from those outlined within the individually prepared Employer Agreement, except in the event of:

  • Replacement textbook (all materials dispatched with tracking) – $100
  • Replacement certificate (all certificates dispatched with tracking) – $50

Please contact our Student Support Officer program by emailing service@traxiontraining.com.au or calling
1300 286 694 to discuss any details relating to Traineeship/Apprenticeship programs and to obtain an Employer Agreement outlining the student contribution fees for the intended training program.

Refund Policy

If a training contract is cancelled (or changed to another training organisation) where the trainee has not commenced any training, all student contribution fees will be reimbursed in full.

A proportionate refund of student contribution fees is provided where this cancellation occurs after one or more units or modules are completed (with the refund calculated as the same % as the % of units completed against the total number of units in the Training Plan). A Statement of Attainment for the completed units will be provided at this time.

Where the trainee withdraws after training for a unit/module has been provided but assessment not completed for the unit/module, that unit/module will not be included in the above calculation.
